FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Straight answers about what is available today.
What is a performance-based question (PBQ)?
A PBQ is an exam task where you do something, such as configure a setting, repair a connection or diagnose a fault, instead of choosing an answer from a list. Chrillo Labs turns that style of task into interactive simulations.
Which certifications are available?
CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1201) is available, with 50 simulations. A+ Core 2, Network+ and Security+ are coming soon and have no content yet.
What is the difference between Practice and Exam mode?
Practice mode offers three levels of hints and a Smart Walkthrough that follows your progress. Exam mode hides hints, advice and the walkthrough and does not reveal the answer before you submit. Both score identically.
Is it free?
The A+ Core 1 simulations are open to try without an account or payment during this launch phase. PBQ 01 (Desktop Computer Repair) and PBQ 02 (DHCP and DNS Recovery) are the designated free samples. Paid access is planned but does not exist yet.
What will it cost?
Planned launch pricing is $9.99 per month or $25 one-time payment for 90-day access. These prices are planned, not final, and cannot be purchased yet.
Can I buy a subscription now?
No. There is no checkout, account system or billing yet. This site will say so plainly when that changes.
Do I need an account?
No. Accounts are not available yet, which also means progress and score history are not saved. Refreshing the page returns you to the hub.
Will this guarantee I pass the exam?
No. Chrillo Labs is a study aid. It cannot guarantee any exam result, and the site does not publish pass rates.
Are the simulations the same as the real exam?
No. They are independent practice exercises built around the published exam objectives. The real exam's questions, format and objectives are set by CompTIA and can change, so check CompTIA for current details.
Is Chrillo Labs affiliated with CompTIA?
No. It is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CompTIA.
What devices work?
The simulations are designed for desktop and laptop browsers with a mouse or trackpad and a reasonably large screen. The information pages on this site also work on tablets and phones, but the practice hub is not optimized for phones.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Everything runs in the browser.
Support is not available yet. The free practice and pricing pages show what is available today.
